permanent outdoor murals in their communities.

Kala’s Artists-In-Schools Program, is designed to
stimulate creativity, expand visual understanding,
vocabulary, and to prepare student to meet state
academic standards. Students learn a spectrum of
techniques including printing, collage, murals, book
arts and 3-dimensional projects. In addition, the
program teaches traditional Indian Kathak dance.

Kaleidoscope is an arts education outreach project of
the Julia Morgan Center for the Arts in Berkeley, CA.
Their goal is to engage the artist within each child.
Taught by artists, children learn art skill building
during their creative experience. They offer
programs including drama, dance, plays, and acting.

MOCHA located in Oakland, CA, is an interactive art
gallery and museum offering field trips and arts
classes. Field trips include a guided tour of current

Dos Amigos is a one-act, bilingual play about two
streetwise kids, who meet and find they have a lot in
common despite their language barriers. Students
learn about social acceptance through the developing
relationship of the two boys from different cultures
who resolved their differences and become friends.

1975. She is the former artistic director of the Bay
Area children’s group, WATOTO WA KUUMBA. She
